The Best Acting Headshots Photographer in Hamilton, Ontario

As a former teacher, artistic director, and theatre owner, I know what casting directors look for in an acting headshot, and how to direct you during your acting headshots session.

As a photographer, I have an unprecedented amount of experience directing and coaching actors and comedians. I understand the casting process from both the actor's and the director’s point of view, and I know what casting directors are looking for from your acting headshot before you even step through the door.

My years spent photographing portraits for magazines and magazine covers have taught me how to create interesting portraits in small windows of time, often in odd and unfamiliar locations. I can read a location to find interesting background and foreground elements for your headshots.

Typically, acting headshots should be cropped just below the shoulders or at the collarbone, emphasizing your face as the primary focus. The background should be simple and unobtrusive.

  • How can I relax and feel comfortable during the session?

Engage in friendly conversation with me, listen to music, or take a moment to breathe before each shot. It will help you feel more at ease during the headshot session.

  • Should I bring a friend or acting coach to the session for support?

While moral support can be helpful, it's best to limit the number of people present during the session to avoid distractions and maintain focus on creating captivating headshots. You do not need an acting coach as I was an artistic director for over a decade before becoming a professional photographer.
