This is a great, friendly neighbourhood. I should know. I grew up in this house.

My mother bought this house 45 years ago when I was just a jolly one-year-old baby. Now, as a professional photographer, I think a lot about light, and the work we’ve done on this house has made natural light a big priority. We’ve completely renovated this house over the past six years, and I mean COMPLETELY.

Top Floor: Main Bathroom

The main bathroom on the top floor was completely renovated two years ago with new wall and floor tile, sleek toilet, and large stone vanity and sink. The bathroom was fitted with all-new, modern hardware, from the stunning three-piece faucet set to the matching bath and rain shower that pours over you into a large fibreglass soaking tub great for quick post-workout showers or a hot baths after a long day at work. The custom-made door features a full-length frosted-glass panel that allows daylight to enter while maintaining your privacy and easing your energy bill. No detail was left unattended. Even the automated fan turns on when it detects either motion or high levels of humidity from steamy showers.


Top Floor: Bedrooms

The rest of the top floor features a linen closet and four beautiful bedrooms, each with its own large sliding window, perfect for letting in an abundance of daylight, spring-fresh air, and melodic songs of robins, sparrows, and warblers. The north-facing master bedroom features 150 sq. ft. of space, positioned beside a smaller room of 85 sq. ft. that comfortably fits a full-sized (bouble) bed, a crib, or an office. We remodelled the kitchen with all new cabinets, countertop, and stainless appliances and redesigned the layout to make it more modern and conducive to cooking on the gorgeous gas stove. The spacious quartz countertop is complemented by a stunning, modern subway-tile backsplash, features three prep areas, and can easily accommodate three people preparing or cooking meals. The sink is a large beautiful ceramic sink with a new single-handle pull-down spring sprayer faucet perfect for doing the dishes or washing your garden-fresh veggies. From personal experience, the 189 sq. ft. kitchen is large enough for a family of six to have casual meals or sit eight guests for a dinner party.


Main Floor: Living Room

The main floor living area is where you and your family will make most of your memories. My very first memory is of me playing with toys in this living room. The basement features a large 281 sq. ft. family room with rustic wood-grain laminate floors and eco-friendly recessed lighting that give it a real cozy, “how is this even a basement” feel. The open stairwell allows lots of natural light to reach the basement. Rockwool (Roxul) Safe’n’Sound fire and soundproofing insulation in the walls and ceiling keeps the room warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and the ambient noise from carrying throughout the house. An equally sized laundry and storage room features a new washer and dryer, two windows, and tons of storage space with easy-to-organize, pre-built shelving.


Backyard

Outside, hand-laid flagstone leads you into a large backyard from an entrance off the top of the two-car driveway. In fact, we’re pretty sure it’s the largest backyard space on the entire block.
